Chapter 5-
Wedding Plans and Jr. Prom
“Come on, Sam! We’ve
been in here for over 2 hours! Can’t we go yet?” yelled a very
impatient Danielle. She, Sam and Jazz had gone dress shopping for
prom that was comming up in 2 weeks. Dani already had picked out a
dress. It was a very dark blue with an empire waist. The skirt was
cut into two layers that overlaped. It had 1 inch straps with diamond
pendants on the base of each strap and ended just above Dani’s knees.
Jazz had just come along
to help both girls, since she had graduated last year. Sam, however
was having difficulty finding a dress. She had tried many stores but
it seemed every dress she found was either too big, too small, the
wrong color or too revealing. She was currently in the dressing room
trying on a red dress that Jazz had found.
She opened the door
revealing herself to her two friends. It was a halter style dress
with the same style as Dani’s, but it seemed too loose and the color
clashed with Sam’s pale skin and dark hair.
“Ok, no freaking way
am I wearing this!” shouted the goth as she got a look at
herself in the mirror. She ran back into the dressing room and pulled
off the gown and tossed it over the door onto the floor with the
other rejects.
“Sam, you have to
pick something. Prom is in 2 weeks and most of the girls at Casper
have already gotten thier dresses.” said the red head.
“Oh yes, I care soo
much more about what preppy shallow girls think of me than my
fi’ance!” The sarcasm was soo thick you could cut it with a
butter knife.
Jazz groaned and rolled
her eyes. Then, something dark and sparkly caught her eye. It was a
dress someone had hung on the side of the mirror in front of the
changing rooms.
She picked it up and
examined it. The dress was a midnight blue with the sides cut out.
Halter style, and had a low, but not too low V neck with white
sequencing.
“Sam, I think i’ve
found your dress.” called Jazz in a sing song voice as she
tossed the dress over the door to the goth.
Sam pulled the fabric off
her head and examined it. She seemed to like what she saw and decided
to try it on.
A few seconds later, she
walked out and Jazz and Dani’s jaw dropped.
“That’s the one!”
the two Fentons shouted in unison.
“I think so to.”
said Sam as she went back into the changing room to put her normal
clothes back on.
“Finally we can get
outta here!” said Dani with excitement.
“Not soo fast, we
still have to find shoes.” called Sam.
Danielle groaned loudly in
disgust.
Several hours later, the
girls drove to the Nasty Burger to meet the boys in Jazz’s red
convertable. The dress bags had been hidden in the trunk so the boys
wouldn’t see them until prom night.
Danny and Tucker sat
waiting for the girls at thier usual booth. Tucker was the first to
see them.
“Hey girls! So, how
was the shopping trip?” he asked standing up so Jazz and Dani
could sit down.
“It would’ve gone
alot smoother if someone
had picked out a dress sooner!” glared Dani at her friend across
the table.
“Hey, not everyone
can find the perfect dress on the first try.”
Dani rolled her eyes at
the statement and went back to staring out the window.
“What’s with her?”
asked Danny to his fiance.
“Oh she’s just pissed
that it took me a while to find the right dress. She, however, found
the perfect dress in the first store! I can’t belive that!”
laughed Sam.
Danny chuckled to himself.
“Tucker, have you
found a date for prom yet?” asked Danny.
“Nope. I asked Val
this morning, but she’s going with Nate. He’s been stalking her ever
since freshman year and she finally agreed to go out with him if he
would just leave her alone after prom night.”
The table burst with
laughter.
“Too bad, Tuck.”
said Danny taking a sip from his soda.
“Hey, why don’t you
and Jazz go together?” asked Dani innocently.
Jazz and Tucker both
turned a bright shade of red.
“Uh, well that is…
um… if she… wants to.” stuttered Tucker trying hard not to
look Jazz in the eye.
“Sure. I suppose I
could go with you.”
This made Tucker’s heart
jump for joy. Not only had she said yes, but she said yes in an all
too confidant voice.
“Really?”
“Yeah, at first I
thought you’d be going with Dani, but now I see that maybe she’s just
a little too young for you.”
“What? You thought
i’d go with my best friend’s 14 year old sister? No offence to Dani
or anything but that would be just plain weird.”
“Damn straight!”
yelled Dani in disgust.
“Just a bit of advice
bro, remember this is my sister and if you do anything to hurt her,
you’ll see a side of Danny Phantom that was never ment to be seen.”
warned Danny with his eyes glowing an ecto green.
“Oh Sam, that reminds
me, when do we go wedding dress shopping?” asked Jazz changing
the subject before anyone says something they might regret later on.
“I was thinking we
could go next weekend. Thier’s no big rush or anything, I was just
thinking we could go ahead and get it out of the way before exams.”
“Ok. So, did you
decide on colors yet?”
“Yep. I was thinking
ice blue and lavender. Mine and Danny’s eye colors.”
The room burst with
‘awws’.
Danny had one of the
biggest smiles on his face that anyone at that table had ever seen.
He kissed her forehead
lovingly.
“Uh, bro? Can we keep
it PG13 here?” asked Dani from across the booth.
“Uh, sure.” said
Danny blushing.
“Dani, would you be
my maid of honor?” asked Sam.
Dani was a little taken
back at the question.
“Uh, sure. But, why me?”
“Because. You deserve
the part. You’re Danny’s sister and one of my best friends. You’re my
first and only choice.”
The female halfa was
overjoyed. She nodded her head ‘yes’. Apparently, Sam had counted on
her saying ‘yes’ to the job because when the Fenton’s and Sam got
back to Fenton Works, Dani was bombarded with pictures of possible
bridesmaid’s dresses. All a nice shade of blue.
“This is gonna be the
longest several months of my life!” groaned Dani.
Two weeks passed by all
too quickly. Prom night had finally come. Jack and Maddie took
hundreds of pictures. Sam and Dani looked amazing in thier dresses.
Sam’s hair was tied up in a bun with several ringlets making a
waterfall effect around her face. Dani’s hair had been curled and
pinned with a silver barrette. Jazz had found a simple strapless red
velvet dress with lace trimming. Instead of her usual headband, Jass
had her hair in a wavy fashion fixed with a diamond comb. Danny and
Tuck wore traditional black tuxes. Danny’s tux had a dark blue vest
and tie while Tucker had a red vest and tie.
“Ok, I think i’m
permanently blind here!” shouted Danielle as the last picture
was taken.
“Oh come on.”
laughed Sam as she tugged her friend in the direction of a white
limo.
Once at Casper High, many
fangirls and some fanboys surrounded the six. Dani and Danny, using
thier ghost powers were able to phase them into the gym without being
mauled.
They sat at a table close
to the exit, incase someone needed to make a quick getaway.
The first song that played
was ‘Upside Down’ by the A*Teens.
“Come on guys! Let’s
have some fun!” shouted Dani as she kicked off her silver heels
and ran onto the dance floor.
“Wanna join her?”
asked Jazz.
“Her not so much. You, sure.” replied
Tucker taking his date’s hand and leading her onto the dancefloor.
“You wanna go?”
asked Danny to his fi’ance.
“Mmm, not right now.
We’ve got all night.” said Sam sitting on his lap. The two
lovers watched thier friends dance around without a care in the
world.
2 hours later, the six sat
at thier table randomly talking, when an all too familiar and
annoying voice was heard over the music.
“I am the Box Ghost!
Beware my powers over all things cardboard and cubelike!”
“I swear if you try
this shit at my wedding or reception, pain won’t be the only thing
you’ll be a master of!” shouted Danny as she transformed into
his alter ego.
“I think bro’s got
this one.” replied Dani sitting back in her chair, watching her
brother toss the Box Ghost around a few times before finally sucking
him into the fenton thermos.
“How the hell does he
keep getting outta the ghost zone?” asked Tucker putting a hand
to his head.
“Beats me, but I
swear if he ruins one more thing for us, i’ll send him to Skulker.”
Then, one of Sam’s
favorite songs, (And mine too!) came on. ‘Long Slow Beautiful Dance’
by Rascal Flatts.
“I think you owe me a
dance, ghost boy.” said Sam with a grin.
“I think so to.”
Danny took Sam’s hand and led her out on the dance floor.
Tucker did the same with
Jazz and left Dani sitting alone at the table.
“Aww, soo cute!”
she cooed watching her four friends dance together in total bliss.
Then, realization struck her.
“Wait a minute! Who
the hell am I gonna dance with!?”
